  National Volunteers’ Week 2024

Join us as we celebrate 40 years of Volunteers’ Week and look to inspire more people to make a difference.

The Nelson Trust & Gloucestershire Community Foundation (GCF) need your help with an EXCITING new project – a pocket garden on Conduit St Gloucester, called “Common Ground”.

The garden was gifted to the Gloucestershire Community Foundation and so they saved it from becoming a car park and are thrilled that The Nelson Trust will be managing this project and garden, creating a tranquil and productive space, for their own wonderful work, along with opening it up to the community.  Some of the local schools around the area have already expressed interest in the children using it as many don’t have a garden space at home.

As part of National Volunteering Week we have a day allocated on the 4th June where we will have the opportunity to support their work and help move the garden on.  So join us either in the morning or in the afternoon and bring your colleagues and we will join the 2 groups together over lunch

We will know nearer the time the type of work required but some digging, weeding, planting and painting could be required.
