Support People with Disabilities at The Orchard Trust

The Orchard Trust is a charity based in the Forest of Dean, supporting people with learning disabilities to live full, active and independent lives.

Can you support their Christmas fundraising campaign?

From midday on Tuesday 28 November until midday on Tuesday 5 December you can make a donation to their Everyone’s Welcome project via the Big Give Christmas Challenge.

They’ll have just one week to raise £8,000. There’s £4,000 available in match funding to double supporters donations. Everyone who donates will enter their Christmas Raffle.

The money raised will fund a year of tailor made activities and events for their disabled clients, their carers and families. Each Everyone’s Welcome event will provide meaningful activities, positive experiences and socialising. The aim is to have fun, make memories, learn, celebrate and gain new skills.

People with disabilities lack accessible opportunities for socialising, learning and fully taking part in society. Social Care workers are often undervalued and their skills and dedication are not always celebrated. The project will tackle these challenges and provide a wonderful year for their clients and staff. Exciting events will include a celebratory Ball and Awards Evening, Vintage Tea Party for client families, family picnic for social care staff and pop up community cafes run by clients.
