RE Recruitment and Sue Ryder’s Long Term Partnership

RE Recruitment’s Cheltenham branch has pledged their ongoing support to national healthcare charity, Sue Ryder, and will be helping to raise vital funds and awareness so that they can continue to be there when it matters.

They have supported the charity, which runs Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, for several years but have now sealed the deal on a long-term partnership which will see them take on solo and group fundraising challenges to raise funds and awareness for years to come.

The company’s founder, Richard East, also exclusively revealed to other Sue Ryder supporters that they will be the headline event sponsor for the annual Sue Ryder Winter Ball on Friday 1 December which is held at the iconic Pittville Pump Rooms.

As a business with multiple branches across the country, RE Recruitment, is no stranger to supporting hospice charities, but following the first-hand experience of their colleague, Jill Wanklyn, and the incredible care her brother and sister received from staff at the Cheltenham Sue Ryder hospice, the team were in no doubt that this was the charity for them.

Jill who recently jumped in the saddle for the charity’s annual flagship cycling event Ride for Ryder in July, said: “Sue Ryder has been a true beacon of hope for my family, and I am delighted to be part of the RE Recruitment team supporting such a wonderful charity. Participating in the Ride for Ryder event was an incredibly fulfilling experience, and it was heart-warming to see so many individuals come together to support such a worthy cause. I look forward to getting even more involved in our fundraising with colleagues helping to give a little back for everything Sue Ryder did for my brother, sister, and our family.”

RE staff are participating in further fundraising plans for the rest of this year including just completing the Cheltenham Half Marathon, and an upcoming plunge into cold water to help generate awareness and vital funds for the charity which provides expert and compassionate palliative care and bereavement support.

Richard East, Founder of RE Recruitment said: “We were keen to support a charity close to the hearts of our staff here in Gloucestershire. Having taken part as a team in The Big Dip in December, as well as being part of the Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice annual ball at the end of last year, it felt like an easy decision to formalise our charity partnership. We have lots of ideas in the pipeline to help raise money and awareness for the charity so watch this space.

“We’d love more local businesses to join us for some festive fun at the Winter Ball this December too. There are limited tables of ten still available, as well as a few other sponsorship packages, so please get in touch with the fundraising team at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice to find out more.

“The RE team is made up of some truly hardworking and dedicated people and I have no doubt each one of them will get behind the cause and help raise as much vital funds as possible, helping Sue Ryder continue to provide the expert and compassionate palliative care and bereavement support they are so well known for,” Richard added.

Elise Hoadley, Service Director at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, said: “We’re so grateful that staff at RE Recruitment have chosen Sue Ryder as their charity partner. With demand for our services increasing, the cost of providing our care is also increasing, and with only around one third of our funding coming from the Government to help cover the cost of our palliative care services, the charity relies heavily on the generous support of the local community. Thanks to RE Recruitment’s support, we can continue to be there for families going through the most difficult times of their lives. We really look forward to continuing our partnership with them in the coming years.”
