Rail Service Update – Rail Improvement Works in July 2023 – Gloucester to Bristol Parkway

We wanted to give you advance notice of Network Rail improvements works taking place this July between Gloucester and Bristol Parkway.

On the weekends of 1 & 2, 8 & 9, 15 & 16 and 22 & 23 July, there will be no trains between Gloucester and Bristol Parkway, with buses running instead. Trains will continue to run between Gloucester and Cheltenham Spa/Worcester, and CrossCountry services will use an alternative route between Cheltenham Spa and Bristol Parkway (calling additionally at Gloucester).

Additionally, on the weekend of 1 & 2 July, trains between London Paddington & Gloucester/Cheltenham Spa will start/terminate at Stroud. On the morning of Sunday 9 July they will only run between London Paddington & Kemble.

Network Rail will be replacing track during these works, ensuring the railway remains safe and reliable to use.

Journey planners have been updated, and we will be making customers aware through traditional and social media, on board and station announcements, as well as station posters. More information is available at www.gwr.com/upgrade.
