Hartpury invites applications to join governing boards

Hartpury University and Hartpury College, renowned for their excellence in sport, equine and land-based studies, are inviting applications to join their Boards of Governors.

The institutions – based on the same specialist campus near Cheltenham and Gloucester – have vacancies available for the posts of Co-opted Committee Member at Hartpury University and FE Governor at Hartpury College.

Strategic thinking and a knowledge of the higher education or further education sectors, or the business world, would be an advantage.

Russell Marchant, the Principal of Hartpury College and University Centre in Gloucestershire.

Russell Marchant, Vice-Chancellor of Hartpury University and Principal of Hartpury College, said: “We aim to provide a unique high-quality experience in a focused and supportive environment, challenging our learners in the pursuit of excellence.

“If you want to make a positive difference, are passionate about education and transforming lives, and want to become involved in the wider interests of Hartpury University and Hartpury College, we would be like to hear from you.”

Hartpury would particularly welcome applications from women, disabled and black and ethnic minority candidates as these groups are currently under-represented on their Boards.

If you are interested in finding out how to join the Boards, contact Gillian Steels, Clerk to the Corporation, on 01452 702159 or email Gillian.Steels@hartpury.ac.uk

Hartpury is a specialist educational provider with around 4,000 college and university level students studying PhDs, postgraduate and undergraduate degrees, and diplomas in the areas of sport, equine, animal, agriculture and veterinary nursing, and A-levels.

Hartpury, located close to Gloucester and Cheltenham, is the only institution in the UK with a college and university on one campus, meaning college students benefit from access to university-level expertise, facilities and opportunities.

Hartpury University is the only educational institution in Gloucestershire to be awarded Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), while Hartpury College is rated Ofsted Outstanding.
