Forest Green Rovers FC kick-off winning partnership with BioPak

BioPak has confirmed a landmark deal with Forest Green Rovers (FGR), the world’s greenest football club.

Committed to reducing single-use plastics on-site , FGR will continue to champion BioPak’s compostable packaging, along with their composting network, Compost Connect.

With a sustainable commitment and vision to a circular economy, Managing Director of BioPak UK Leanne Osborne is pleased with the new partnership.

“At BioPak, putting the planet first is at the heart of what we do, and that’s why we are truly delighted to be able to partner with Forest Green Rovers.” said Osborne.

“They not only align with our beliefs and thirst for innovation and change, but they also want to be leaders in their industry. This is something BioPak admires and strives for as well.

“This is only the start for Forest Green Rovers, and we’re excited to be a part of this journey and see the impacts they make in the world of football and beyond,” said Osborne.

As the world’s first carbon-neutral football club and the “greenest team in the world,” a partnership with BioPak was the next step. CEO Henry Staelens, has commented.

“It’s good to be working with BioPak. Their compostable products are an important feature of our matchdays, ensuring our waste initiatives are as robust as possible.” said Staelens.

FGR is currently in the planning stages of building a state-of-the-art Eco Park which will be constructed entirely from wood that will seat up to 5,000 fans and will lie in landscaped parkland.

The football club has also been recognised for their many sustainable initiatives, including the installation of an organic pitch, a solar-powered ‘mow-bot’, captured rainwater for pitch irrigation, supplying 100% vegan food and even recommending sustainable travel for visitors.

Made from plants, BioPak’s innovative, award-winning packaging continues to disrupt the single-use plastic sector, especially within the sporting world.

The launch of Compost Connect in 2021 broadens BioPak’s work and movement for a circular economy, diverting food and waste packaging from landfill and increasing the accessibility of compost facilities to businesses and individuals.
