Email overload

It’s half-term, so many people will be switching on their OOO but will they be actually switching off from work? Still reading emails and not taking a proper break has become the norm.

Email is a key tool in our work. It can provide us with instantaneous communication and great conversation, without a word being spoken.

However, it can also create stress and anxiety when the volumes become overwhelming and the demand for our attention increases exponentially.

This is particularly so when you have been away from work on holiday. The relaxing break is replaced by the stress and irritation of an overflowing inbox!

TeamDoctor’s short film gives some insights into how email overload can affect people and suggests what can be done to make it more productive, whilst reducing the impact on the well-being of the recipient, end user.

  • Utilise email templates or saved responses for common messages.
  • Automate tasks with email plugins or tools.
