A New Chapter for Gloucestershire Airport with Major Upgrades

Gloucestershire Airport are celebrating the successful completion of major upgrades to our crosswind (04-22) and main (9-27) runways. On the day of the reopening we were joined by Cotswold Aero Club who, along with Managing Director Karen Taylor, were the first to take off and land on the new main runway. We also welcomed back The Little Jet Company, one of our longest-standing tenants.
Karen commented: “The successful completion of these upgrades to airside infrastructure heralds the start of a new chapter for Gloucestershire Airport – possibly the single most transformative period in our recent history”.
The programme of work was delivered by VolkerFitzpatrick, one of the UK’s leading engineering companies, and project managed by Ridge & Partners LLP. It included runway resurfacing, the installation of new runway lighting, upgrades to signage and drainage and below-ground infrastructure in readiness for a new radar system.
