Camella Cephas, Board Director and Head of Children & Care Law

Camella Cephas qualified as a solicitor in 2011 having completed her training contract in London. She worked in both private practice and for the local authority in London before moving back to Gloucestershire in 2015. Camella became and Associate at WSP Solicitors in 2021 after joining the firm in 2020. In July 2022 Camella became a Board Director and Head of Children & Care Law for WSP Solicitors, taking on an important leadership role in the business.

 

Her vast experience ranges through dealing with complex child law cases such as those with an international element, forced marriage protection orders, issues of non-accidental injuries and sexual abuse. Camella also has experience of dealing with vulnerable clients and represents both parents and children through their court appointed Guardian. Camella is an accredited member of the Law Society’s children panel and specialises in Children law, both public and private law cases. She is also a keen advocate and represents her clients at court hearings.

 

As well as her legal responsibilities to clients and leadership role within the business, Camella is Training Principal, instrumental in the training and mentoring of the firms next generation of Legal Practitioners. She has transformed this process in the business and has also launched ongoing support for newly qualified fee earners with the firms’ NQ Mentoring Scheme.

 

Outside of the business Camella is a guest lecturer on the University of Gloucestershire Law degree Family Law module and has recently been asked to lecture on the Legal Skills: Advocacy module.
