Suzanne Booker Becomes Interim Chief Executive for Lilian Faithfull Care

Lilian Faithfull Care is delighted to announce that Suzanne Booker has taken over as Interim Chief Executive of their charity, as Martin Hughes moves on to new challenges.

Lilian Faithfull Care is a charity with 76 years’ experience of providing care, support and a ‘home for life’ for people in Gloucestershire. Proudly caring for over 250 remarkable residents across five care homes and two adult day hubs in Cheltenham and Stroud.

Suzanne has worked for the charity for 27 years, leading Astell House, St Faith’s & Faithfull House, before taking on the new role of Director of Care 8 years ago.

Suzanne is well known for her fantastic reputation in the care sector of Gloucestershire. Co-Chair of the Gloucestershire Care Providers Association (GCPA) and a recent winner of the ‘2022 Natalie Bonner Award’, for her dedication in the health & social care in the county.

Suzanne commented, “I feel very humble and privileged to take on this role. When I started on my journey at our Astell House care home I did not imagine having this opportunity. A big focus for me will continue to be looking after and caring for our residents and our staff. It is a huge responsibility but it feels a natural progression and I know our charity can meet the challenges of our times.”

Suzanne continues, “I have been incredibly happy as Director of Care, helping to grow and develop the charity over the last 8 years. It has always been important to me to encourage all my staff to grow and realise you can do anything if you put your mind to it. Seeing people grow and develop their careers and become confident is a real joy.”

“One important moment for me was when we were approached by the University of Gloucestershire to be part of their nursing degree programme; it showed how far we have come as a charity establishing a reputation for high care standards.”

Suzanne will continue as Director of Care as well, and a newly established team will support her, to ensure care standards are maintained, while she takes on the new responsibilities.

Suzanne finished with a mention to Martin Hughes, “We extend our thanks to Martin, who has worked for the charity for over 12 years and we wish him all the best in his new role.”

Congratulations to Suzanne from the staff at Lilian Faithfull Care.
