At this event we will visit manufacturers Spirax Sarco to learn about their business and their sustainability strategy. What they have been up to, the changes they have made and the positive outcomes for the environspiraxspiraxment. We will then have a site tour to see first -hand what they have implemented into their business and how they have adopted their One Planet Engineering with Purpose approach to manufacturing.

 

Students from St Edwards School will be joining us at the event. An opportunity to bring students and business together to support continued learning and development and future talent pipelines.

Tessa will share the Olio story, from a proof of concept via Whatsapp, to a global movement of over 6 million people. She will also explain how Olio has built a network of over 60,000 trained volunteers who enable thousands of business locations to be zero food waste, by redistributing their unsold food at the end of the day. She will conclude by summarizing her learnings about innovation and how to be a truly sustainable business, drawing from both her corporate and startup experience.

 

Olio has grown to over 7 million users in 63 countries and its impact has been widely recognised, most notably by the United Nations who highlighted Olio as a “beacon” for the world, and by Vivatech who awarded Olio “Next European Unicorn”.
