Graduate Gains Prestigious Property Recognition

A talented graduate at Bruton Knowles has been recognised for his auctioneering and property skillsets at the national 2019 RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) Matrics Auction Competition.

Graduate Surveyor, Jack Moulsdale is based in Bruton Knowles’ Gloucester office and was one of four property professionals to secure a spot at the competition’s national finals at RICS’ headquarters in London. After demonstrating excellence in auctioneering, including the ability to secure bids, interaction with clientele and professionalism, Jack was crowned overall winner of the competition as well as winning Best Novice Award.

This was the first time that someone from Bruton Knowles had entered the prestigious competition. Taking place every two years, the event is hosted by RICS Matrics – an established membership network dedicated to supporting and developing young professionals in the property surveying industry. Competitors were given scripted scenarios by the judges and were challenged to sell three cricket-themed lots under the hammer.

Jack said: “I am very proud to be the first at Bruton Knowles to have not only entered the competition but to go on and win overall.

“The event recognises the best property talent across the UK and the final stage had strong competition with four other very talented candidates. I knew it was important to work hard to adapt my skills and knowledge learnt both at Bruton Knowles and in education to ensure the best results, which ultimately led to my win.”

James Bailey, Managing Partner at Bruton Knowles said: “At Bruton Knowles, we invest significantly in supporting our graduates and their future aspirations. We have seen great success with many enjoying rewarding careers in property as a result.

“It is a fantastic achievement by Jack to have been recognised on a national level by RICS Matrics. Having only been with Bruton Knowles since September, Jack has shown excellence in all his work and this recognition only further highlights his ability and knowledge within property. It is clear that he has a very exciting future and career ahead of him.”
