Additive Manufacturing

Additive Manufacturing (AM) helps to challenge the way products are designed and produced.

The MTC is the home of the UK’s National Centre for Additive Manufacturing, with the aim of assisting UK industry in the uptake and development of AM and where new standards for design, materials and processes are set. The team of engineers and technical specialists there work with manufacturers and OEMs to test and develop their ideas into real products and identify the viability of the technology for their business.

 Dr. Farhan Khan, Senior Research Engineer in Design for Additive Manufacturing, will discuss the evolution of additive manufacturing from its humble beginning to future trends and share some practical applications in industry.

 Following Farhan’s presentation, Megan Jenkinson-Garner, research physicist at Precision Acoustics, will share her own experience and explain how the use of Additive Manufacturing helped Precision Acoustics bring a new product to market.

 We will then open the floor to raise questions and share thoughts around this topic.
