About the event

Building a strong brand is central to an organisations success but more and more businesses are finding that the traditional brand model consisting of the company vision, mission and values used by large corporates and made famous by marketing guru Peter Drucker in the 1970s simply doesn’t work for them. In this session, brand strategist Andy Wheatley will share his experiences of working with a new breed of progressive and fast growing businesses who are embracing a more fluid and dynamic model built around a brand manifesto.

Andy will show examples of successful brand manifestos and provide some of the tools to help you to start building your own that will help to engage both your employees and target audiences in a refreshingly new and increasingly effective way.

About Andy Wheatley

Andy is a freelance Brand Strategist and Management Consultant who advises entrepreneurs, SMEs and corporate mavericks on brand strategy, marketing and change management. He provides practical advice and one to one support for the owners and management teams of some of the most dynamic, ambitious and fastest growing businesses in the UK, many of which are private equity backed and focused on maximising the financial value of their brand. He also specialises in ESG communication strategies that encourage sustainable and ethical behaviour through this consultancy HMKD.

He learnt his trade at Interbrand and The Brand Union (now called Superunion) where he was Managing Director of the Bangkok office, before going on to be a Director at several award-winning agencies and then working for himself and advising primarily CEOs and business owners. He has advised brands, businesses, politicians and governments all over the world.

He is half English, half Singaporean and has lived and worked in the UK, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.  It’s given him an international and multi-cultural approach to life, which comes with a healthy disregard for rules and the status quo.

It’s always an insightful, thought provoking and often uncomfortable conversation with Andy but it always makes you think!
