About the event
We are delighted to have Tim Atkins, Managing Director of Place & Growth, Cheltenhm Borough Council and working to make Cheltenham the Cyber Capital of the UK join us for our C2S Talsk series.
Making Cheltenham the cyber capital of the country is the number one priority in the Borough Council’s new corporate strategy.
The three-year corporate strategy sets out what the council are calling “the authority’s purpose, principles and priorities for the future.”
It sets out five goals that work alongside the Cheltenham Place Vision which was agreed last year.
As well as the aim of creating a cyber capital, the council want to continue the improvement of the town centre and public spaces and achieve a cleaner and greener environment.
Increasing the supply of housing and investing to build resilient communities and delivering services to meet the needs of residents and the communities complete the list of five aims.
Hear more from Tim on what this means for business, community, education and the supply chain.

But it’s the cyber park that will garner most attention with the council stating their aim of creating a national first.
The document says: “With partners, the council will work towards making Cheltenham the cyber capital of the UK, a national first, which will deliver investment in homes, jobs, infrastructure and enable the council to deliver growth for local communities.”
“We will secure the investment needed to ensure successful delivery of the Cyber Park and supporting infrastructure, investing today to create the jobs for tomorrow.” The proposed cyber park will be on land sandwiched between the GCHQ site at Benhall, the A40 Golden Valley and M5 Motorway.
