At Charles Russell Speechlys, we are really encouraging the support of charities. We have re-established our link with friends at Emmaus, and have launched an emergency initiative “Project Companion”. We have set up a CRS fundraising page for Emmaus which has been circulated firm-wide, encouraging people to donate and share it further. We’re also exploring ways to offer Emmaus pro bono support, and are looking at other volunteering projects with them.
We also sent five giant 1KG Lindt chocolate bunnies to a contact at St Thomas’ Hospital who distributed them around the ICU team, A&E therapy, and the porters. They were all so very thankful and we’ve received great feedback.
As well as this, a CRS partner is leading a charities and commercial team acting pro bono for Food4Heroes – an organisation providing healthy, tasty food for free to frontline NHS workers.
Finally, CRS have decided to increase the number of volunteering hours granted to all staff from 14 hours to 21 hours from 1 May 2020, to really promote everyone to offer their time to help others during this difficult time.
