0000719 Don Cayetano Sauvignon Blanc 2019, Chile

Don Cayetano has long been a top customer favourite among our Sauvignons. For a good reason! It’s fruity, fresh and excellent value. This is a crisp, minerally, lime fresh white from the Luis Felipe Edwards estate From four-time Chilean Winery of the Year, this white will ravish you with cut grass, gooseberry and tropical fruit.  Will suit a creamy style of cheese.

1948219 Lobo e Falcão 2019, Portugal

Wine Spectator calls Portugal “the most exciting wine place on the planet”, with its terrific range of native grape varieties and wines that always offer standout value.

Fans of smooth, mouthfilling wines take note – this is a sure contender for the Big Red crown. A delicious blend of Portuguese grapes from a former royal falconry, Lobo e Falcão has lovely warmth, satisfying richness and dark, spicy fruit. Would suit a stilton or blue style of cheese.

Thanks to Steven Wilmer, GM The Ivy Montpellier who was our guest cheese expert.  Steven close a couple of his favourite cheeses to go with the wines and also gave the great news that all The Ivy’s will open on the 4th July.  They are only taking phone bookings no just calling in and they will have temperature monitors on the doors so any one with a temperature (and their party) will not be allowed in.

Good luck Steven & Mimmo for the opening, it will be lovely to go back to both our lovely local Ivy’s in Cheltenham and Bristol.

Nikki Budding, Hope for Tomorrow gave us an update on all of the amazing things they have been doing and the many ways we can all support them and keep those critical Mobile Cancer Units n the road.  They receive no government/NHS funding.

It costs £198 per day to keep one Mobile Cancer Care Unit in operation which will treat 20-25 patients per day and operate all over the country.
