CCP Charity receives support from 9-year old Layla who goes above and beyond to earn her badge

Caring for Communities and People (CCP) that exists to prevent the causes and reduce the effects of homelessness, family breakdown, and exclusion has attracted the attention of 9-year old Layla.

Layla has started working towards her charities badge for St Nicholas Brownies and is planning to walk and scoot the Cheltenham half marathon route (13.1 miles) in February 2023, to raise money for those in need locally.

Layla’s mum and dad will be doing the walk with her and they aim to complete the walk/scoot on Sunday, 19 February 2023.

The initial target was set at £200 but because she achieved that in 24 hours, her family decided to increase it to £500.

A poster has been printed and will be put up in any local business that would like to support Layla. Boston Tea Party has already agreed to display it.

Layla’s mum Hannah has set up a Just Giving page for her fundraising efforts at: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/layla-boydell-half-marathon-walk-scoot

CCP’s Chief Executive Officer Cordell Ray said, “Makes me super proud that such a special child has chosen to support CCP. She seems very aware of the current situation that people are finding themselves in. The community support for her efforts has been overwhelming and is so appreciated by those in need.”
