This week we had the second in our series of Worcestershire Industrial Strategy focus groups. We launched in May with over 70 business leaders gathering at the Three Countries to discuss their challenges and provide valuable feedback to Worcestershire LEP to help them deliver an industrial strategy designed to support the Worcestershire business community. Today we worked with a focus group to dig a little deeper in to what the real challenges are and how we can overcome these. Members 8D Closures hosted us today, a very successful manufacturing business in Worcester who have experience huge growth over the last 3 years. They design high end hinges for McLaren to solutions for electric taxis to provide a service for disabled people, as with all businesses innovation, productivity, premises and talent are at the forefront of their business strategy going forward. Gary Woodman, Chief Exec for Worcestershire LEP talked us through the positive work the LEP has done to date and we analysed what Worcestershire business leaders, Manufacturing, Education, Tourism. Hospitality, Charity and the Health sectors need to continue to grow their businesses. We also looked at access to funding, business support and had an open discussion with great ideas and valuable feedback. It’s imperative that the WLEP understand the real challenges of Worcestershire businesses to help produce an industrial strategy that will work
