C2S Sustainability Focus Online Creed Foodservice share their Journey and we look at getting back to Nature

What is Regeneration? A short film from Damon Gameau, Nick Maher and the 2040 team – take a look it’s great!

Thank you to everyone that joined us for the Sustainability Focus online event. The focus at this event was about getting back to nature. Great video that captures this very idea – It’s great to watch!

About the event

Sustainability is a massive and many faceted concept and means different things to different people. It is easy for organisations to focus on carbon and energy reduction (because they get most of the airtime) but there is so much more to it and it’s vital that organisations start to think in a more integrated and holistic way to reduce risk and reap the benefits …..of which there are many!

These sessions give the time to hear form experts and share our own journeys and best practice so we can learn from each other.

This month we heard from:

Phil Creed – Sustainability Director at Creed Foodservice

“We are committed to believing in more for tomorrow for our environment and our stakeholders. As a business, we are continually focused on our vision; to put sustainability at the heart of everything we do. During 2021, we maintained our low emissions by continuing our focus on environmental and sustainable initiatives in every aspect of our business.

Our action plan focuses on the 3 key areas of People, Product, Planet. Our Sustainability Committee, including myself, review annually and update progress made against our targets.

At Creed we believe in more today for a better tomorrow. With a focus on people, product and planet we work
with our customers and suppliers to act responsibly whilst supporting the communities in which we operate. We are committed to reducing our impact on the environment by empowering employees across all levels to
include sustainability at the heart of everything we do.

To meet our sustainability targets we have identified key projects that will enable us to reduce our emissions;

Scope 1
• Exploring HVO fuel options.
• All new company cars to be hybrid or electric.

Scope 2
• Continuing to utilise a green energy supplier.
• Continuing LED lighting roll out across all sites.
• Installing solar panels at our Ilkeston site with the view
to roll out to all depots.

Scope 3
• Supporting our colleagues with a flexible working
environment, balancing working from home and being office
based.
• Promoting car sharing and using public transport when
possible.

Nature has all the Answers!

“I believe that we already have the answers we need to make positive change, we just need to tap back into nature, and let nature do the work”

Ben stocking – Sustainable Business Architect, Energy Specialist, Ecologist, Futurist and Collaboration Catalyst

Following on from Ben’s article in Edition 9 of the Circle2Success Business Magazine Ben will be talking to us about the global, national, and regional picture, along with top tips and updates on the value and benefits of reconnecting with nature. Ben has a strong belief that nature has the answers we need: we just need to reconnect as a society and let nature do its work!

Ben talks about adding blue and green back to grey and will give examples of how this has benefited society and wellbeing – very thought provoking and well worth joining us.
