About the Event

Andoversford Races sits at the heart of a largely affluent set of land and homeowners around Gloucestershire and the Three Counties, whose leisure time is built on the county’s love of horseracing. Racing at Andoversford predates its larger more illustrious cousin, Cheltenham Racecourse in Prestbury by some 60 years. The first Grand Annual Chase took place here in 1834.

Now this annual fixture attracts a regular audience of up to 4,000, enjoying a celebration of the countryside, with the steeplechase, dog shows, pony racing, photography exhibition, food village, retail shops and craft, parade of the Cotswold Hounds and more …..

Peter McNeile

Peter McNeile is a career professional in horseracing, having held senior management positions at Warwick, Cheltenham and Berlin’s Hoppegarten Racecourse over the past 30 years. Alongside a role working for leading digital ticketing provider Future Ticketing, he now works in a freelance capacity advising and consulting for the grass roots of the sport within the amateur division of Point-to-Point racing, where the horses, riders and trainers of tomorrow cut their teeth. Andoversford is one of several local fixtures in which he has invested time and energy to grow them into sustainable annual events, through sales effort and the deployment of contemporary marketing communications.
