Leading lawyers support merger of window and door manufacturers

Lawyers from Harrison Clark Rickerbys supported the merger and acquisition of Customade Group Ltd, from Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, with Polyframe Group Ltd, to create the largest trade fabricator of windows and doors for UK installers.

The deal, which was backed by further investment from Cairngorm Capital Partners LLP, will create a group with revenues of more than £100m which will trade as Customade. The two firms bring together their expertise in the manufacture of PVCu, aluminium and composite windows, doors and conservatory roof products.

Led by partner Rebecca Leask, the legal team, including Helen Higginbotham, Joe Mulrenan and Louise Crook, acted for John Lightowlers, Customade’s managing director, who now becomes the Group Managing Director of the enlarged firm.

Rebecca said: “I am delighted that we could support the Customade team in such a good move for the company – it brings together two leaders in their fields to create a major player in the market, with a bright future.”

John said: “This is the perfect partnership for two businesses with shared values and offers great opportunities. Having worked with Harrison Clark Rickerbys for many years, I knew that their attention to detail, speed and professionalism would be invaluable, and so it proved.”

Harrison Clark Rickerbys has 420 staff and partners based at offices in Cheltenham, the Wye Valley, Hereford, Worcester, Birmingham and the Thames Valley, who provide a complete spectrum of legal services to both business and private clients, regionally and nationwide. The firm also has a number of highly successful teams specialising in individual market sectors, including health and social care, education, agricultural and rural affairs, defence, security and the forces, and construction.
